What?!? I'm not perfect?

EPD K--"Um, you misspelled my name on my nametag"

Sure, maybe I did misspell your nametag name, but did you give it to me correctly when you rsvp'd? Maybe you decided you'd write in your "doctor" handwriting the day you sent in your reply card. Oh, you go by Dick, but you told me on the phone your name was Richard. I think Dick really does fit you better.

Events aren't for everyone. Planning even a small cocktail party for friends requires an unlimited supply of patience and understanding that you can't control every aspect of your event. You can't change the fact that your friend's kid got sick and now she can't come and she was going to bring the cocktail weenies. Staying cool under pressure and facing every obstacle with a smile and the knowledge that this probably isn't as important as you might think it is. While frustration abounds in event planning, there is so much excitement in seeing it all come together. It's that moment when you stand in the back of the room, where no one sees you and you just know you put on a pretty darn good party. It's never been about the praise from others; but about the sense of doing something that makes a memory for someone.

While events are frustrating and the unexpected is expected...you should always remember that at the end of the party, you're going home with someone who's pretty great...You. No matter how crazy things were or how someone may have treated you not-so-great, you handled yourself professionally and you're a better person for it. So goodnight you super awesome girl!
